Find the primary document

Ask clarifying questions
What grew fastest year over year? What was cut? Which programs serve the vulnerable? Are one-time funds being used for ongoing costs? Who audits the numbers? Honest uncertainty beats confident speculation.
Engage with humility
Budget literacy helps prayer and advocacy become specific. It does not require becoming an accountant—or baptizing one fiscal ideology. Verify claims, attend consultations when possible, and pray for officials making hard trade-offs.
